Phil Seibel, President of Advanced Benefit Solutions
Phil Seibel

Advanced Benefit Solutions is a family business, founded and built by Phil’s father, Ronald Seibel. Phil joined as president of the firm in 2021 to carry on the family business after working in the insurance industry for more than a decade. Phil is a natural advocate for others with a unique ability to identify risk and make the complex world of benefits accessible for small business owners.

As president of Advanced Benefit Solutions, Phil takes every opportunity to learn from the business owners he meets as they share their stories of success and challenges. He identifies with other entrepreneurs who are forging their own path. His active role in ABS involves managing client relationships and assisting with plan designs. A true visionary, Phil takes a hands-on approach as he manages the practice and works to cultivate a sustainable organization that will be helping other small businesses for decades to come.

Phil attended the University of Texas on a baseball scholarship and studied communications. Phil’s professional baseball career spanned 7 years with the highlight being a member of the 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox. After deciding to retire, Phil obtained a job in the front office of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

After a year and a half of working in the front office, Phil decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and join the insurance world. Since 2009, Phil has consulted clients and advisors on insurance-related needs.

Outside of the office, Phil loves spending time with his wife and their children.

Ron Seibel

Ron Seibel is the founder of Advanced Benefit Solutions, building the business one relationship at a time since 2005. With his vast understanding of the components of the health and benefits industry, he is familiar with the challenges his small business clients face, diligently putting his knowledge to work to design innovative solutions.

Ron is a valuable resource to his clients with more than 40 years of experience spanning different roles within the healthcare industry. His involvement in running corporations, including mergers and acquisitions, and a legal understanding of each of these components, help him to better understand the needs of small businesses. He spent more than 14 years in hospital finance and administration with another 15 years as part of senior management of a national healthcare business, giving him extensive knowledge in all areas from financing, physician, hospital and claims reimbursement systems, and insurance.

His personal goal in life is to never look back and say, “I wish I would have…” To that end, he has always made business decisions consistent with his values and advises others to do the same.

Ron holds a BSBA in accounting from Southeastern University. He also holds a Master of Arts in Management with an emphasis in Healthcare from the University of Phoenix. One of Ron’s greatest blessings in life is his wife, two sons, and their families.

Lorin joined the Advanced Benefits Team in 2022 as the Director of Client Relations. In this role she supports the executive leadership, ensuring every client receives the best service possible. No matter where a client is in their benefits journey, she facilitates long-term relationships and works with marketing and underwriting teams to support customer needs, all while providing guidance and advice. Methodical, detailed, and authentic, Lorin makes sure every client engagement is a positive one.

Perhaps one of the most interesting people you will ever meet, Lorin has a diverse background and has collected many fascinating experiences. . Originally from Ohio, she’s been in the ATX community for nearly a decade. Lorin graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences and a minor in dance (oh yeah, she’s a ballerina!).

Her professional background is just as diverse, affording her the opportunity to be a part of establishing different start-ups within academia, taking part in nation-wide government funded projects, serving an executive assistant to a real estate syndicator, event planning, social media marketing, and…she’s also a licensed hairstylist. See what we mean about being interesting?

Easy to talk to, Lorin has a way of making others feel at ease. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her making friends everywhere she goes, enjoying a good rock concert, volunteering, and exploring Austin with her dog Lola.

Maria Irwin embarked on her healthcare insurance career with a major medical carrier in March 2013, establishing her as a seasoned professional. She assumed the role of Director of Benefits at Advanced Benefit Solutions in January 2024, bringing a wealth of experience to deliver invaluable insights and guidance to clients.

At the heart of Maria’s professional philosophy lies a commitment to fostering relationships built on trust. Positioned as the go-to expert for all insurance-related matters, she ensures a seamless and reliable experience for her clients. Embracing the dynamic nature of her role, she thrives on daily challenges, crafting tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of each client.

What sets Maria apart in the insurance profession is her genuine passion for its intricacies, propelling her from an initial insurance novice to a board member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals Austin chapter—a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence. A source of great pride for her is the Ouida Peterson Professional Development Award from the Texas National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals in 2023.

Originally hailing from Chicago, IL, she now proudly calls Leander, TX, home. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in creating lasting family memories with her husband and their two children. Whether exploring a new restaurant, embarking on family adventures, or snuggling up for a cozy family movie night, Maria cherishes every moment with her loved ones.

In both her personal and professional pursuits, Maria’s passion shines through, making her not just a reliable and dedicated professional, but also an individual who values the bonds that make life truly meaningful.

Patty has more than 15 years of experience working in the insurance industry to find solutions that meet the needs of her clients. In addition to her deep knowledge of individual insurance, she has a strong sales background and works diligently to inform her clients not only about how policies work and how current regulation may impact them, but also how clients can utilize the specific benefits outlined in their coverage.

Originally from Indiana, Patty attended the University of Texas at Austin and has called Austin, Texas home since 1981. Her genuine care and compassion shines through in every client interaction and she is a valuable member of the individual insurance team at Advanced Benefit Solutions.

A master of organization, Sarah has a unique ability to efficiently juggle multiple tasks at a time. Her determination to resolve issues quickly, coupled with her 16 years of experience in navigating industry-specific challenges, makes her an incredible asset to the Advanced Benefit Solutions team.

Regulations and plan offerings change quickly in the insurance industry. In her role as a Client Benefits Administrator, Sarah walks each client through the enrollment process and continues servicing the policy throughout its lifetime. She expertly responds to policy questions and issues, providing prompt responses drawing on her expertise and experience. Her goal is to provide customer service above and beyond, taking as much of the burden off each client as possible.

Sarah was born and raised in Texas. When she says she is a multitasker, she means it! A busy mom of three, she can be found spending time with her family outside of the office (or cuddling her dogs.)

Stefany joined the Advanced Benefit Solutions team as a Client Benefits Administrator in early 2023. New to the insurance industry, Stefany brings a unique perspective to the table when it comes to streamlining the health insurance renewal process and managing the day-to-day group benefit tasks.

With a background in the fashion industry, (even having lived in New York for a bit!), she is naturally a creative thinker, and is always looking for new ideas or innovative ways of doing things to benefit clients and the team. Stefany assists with account maintenance for group benefits, tracks the progress of each account’s activity, and proactively researches options during renewal season.

A graduate of Texas State University, Stefany was born in Guatemala and raised in Boerne, Texas. A bit of a social butterfly, she is naturally outgoing and easy to talk to, which is why in her spare time you’ll find her out dancing, checking out a comedy show, or cycling at any studio that plays Taylor Swift.
