Individual Health & Medicare Supplement Sales Agent
Position Overview
The Individual Health & Medicare Supplement Sales Agent is responsible for helping consumers evaluate, select, and enroll in health insurance products including ACA individual plans, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), prescription drug plans, and related ancillary coverage. This role combines consultative sales, client education, and ongoing service to ensure each client receives the right coverage for their needs and budget.
The person for this role can either be experienced, or new to the business. If experienced, the items below will be expected. If new, then ABS will assist with training the person to have the qualifications below.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, qualify, and enroll individuals into ACA marketplace plans, Medicare Supplement, PDP, and ancillary products (dental, vision, hospital indemnity, etc.).
- Conduct needs assessments to understand client health, financial, and coverage priorities.
- Explain plan options clearly, including premiums, deductibles, networks, drug formularies, and enrollment timelines.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead intake to application submission and follow up.
- Maintain compliance with CMS, ACA, carrier, and state regulations, including required disclosures and documentation.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients through annual reviews, renewal support, and ongoing service.
- Track activity and production in the agency CRM and meet monthly/annual sales goals.
- Stay current on product changes, carrier updates, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in community outreach events, seminars, and referral building activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active state health insurance license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- AHIP certification.
- Experience in health insurance, Medicare, or financial services preferred.
- Strong understanding of ACA marketplace plans and Medicare plan types.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
- High level of integrity and commitment to compliance.
- Comfortable working with technology (CRM, quoting tools, carrier portals).
Preferred Skills & Traits
- Consultative sales approach focused on long term relationships.
- Ability to work independently and manage a pipeline.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
- Experience with community outreach or senior market sales.

- Base salary plus commission, or commission only depending on experience.

- For clarity, this will be an internal role for someone not building their book. If someone would like to leave the firm and take clients, they can acquire them from the agency.
Work Environment
- Full-time
- 99% Remote. Occasional in person meetings with team members.
- Seasonal flexibility required during Open Enrollment (ACA) and Annual Enrollment Period (Medicare).
- Occasional community events, workshops, or client meetings outside standard hours.
